Making CPD pay, and getting ahead of reporting reform

What will I learn?

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Explain why CPD matters beyond compliance, and how a planned approach supports career progression, client trust and commercial growth;
  • Outline the core CPD requirements of the main accountancy bodies, what counts as verifiable learning and how to evidence it;
  • Build a CPD plan that aligns with your role, your firm’s strategy and the services your clients value;
  • Describe the purpose and scope of the Modernising Corporate Reporting consultation and why the government believes reform is needed and how to respond with confidence;
  • Summarise the headline proposals, including removing the requirement for statutory audits for most SMEs and more;
  • Assess how the proposals could affect companies of different sizes and the practitioners who serve them.
